ABOUT FACULTY OF COMMERCE

The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is one of the oldest and most prestigious Universities of Western India established in 1949. Among its 14 Faculties of varied disciplines, the Faculty that caters to the largest number of students, roughly 18,000 for Graduate and Post Graduate Programs year on year is the Faculty of Commerce. Ours is the first University in the State of Gujarat to offer specialization at the UG level. Additionally, the PG Program offers specialization in five areas of Commerce –Accountancy, Management, Banking and Insurance, Business Economics and Cooperation and Rural Management. The Faculty offers the following Programs : B.Com, B.Com (Honors), BBA, M.Com (with Specialization), M.Com (General) and PG Diploma (with specializations)

ABOUT CAREER COUNSELLING AND PLACEMENT CELL (CCPC)

To bridge the space between the graduating students of Faculty of Commerce and their potential employers, the Career Counselling and Placement Cell (CCPC) has been taking several initiatives in this direction since 2014. CCPC nurtures an environment for continuous Industry-Institute Interface. It provides Industry a platform to address students about up coming career opportunities and orientating about various Industries and their requirements. CCPC organizes Training Programs for skill development, Mock interviews, dedicated Industry need based Workshops and Campus Placement. CCPC has also been facilitating MOUs between University and Industry partners that offer Training under CSR focusing on students needing special support for employability enhancement. With each passing year, the number of students registering under CCPC has shown significant improvement and in parallel,the number of Industries as well as profile of the same has witnessed considerable improvement. Prominent Companies who are associated with CCPC include TCS, Nielsen, ICICI Prudential, ICICI Bank, HDFC Sales, Tech Mahindra, Rishabh Software, Lifeline Foundation, Piramal Foundation, Reliance Nippon etc. There is also a perceptible increase in the conversion ratio every year and so far over 1100 students have been placed.

The efforts of CCPC, Faculty of Commerce, MSUB is to ensure that students get the best exposure to the practical world of Business and Knowledge blended with Skills open up the best career path for them .
